Hi, Jason here.

If you know me, you know I love being in the classroom.

I love working closely with people on stuff that matters to them.

I love watching people’s lightbulbs turn on as they discover their “Ah-ha!” moments.

And for 15 years as a technology consultant and adult educator, I had the privilege of supporting people in classrooms, in their homes, and at work with making sense of things.

And I know how to translate complex topics for rooms of people who didn’t sign up for a lecture.

Now as a clinical counsellor, I’m bringing my plain-language approach to the world of mental health.

It’s been thrilling to get to work with people one-on-one, and I’d still like to do more.

I want to give back and offer support to people who are struggling to cope with and make sense of their worlds.

To offer perspectives from psychology and neuroscience.

And to provide helpful tools that people can start using right away.

To do all this, I’ve developed 3 workshops suitable for most audiences.

And I’m offering them for free to student groups, parent groups, educators, health care professionals, non-profit organizations, and other professional helpers.

Living Well in an Unpredictable World: Navigating anxiety, grief, and uncertainty in turbulent times

Drawing on trauma-informed and somatic approaches, this session explores the psychological impact of living through collective and ongoing crises.

We’ll look at why our nervous systems respond the way they do, how prolonged exposure to distressing events can erode our capacity to feel and function, and how grief shows up in unexpected ways.

Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of their own responses to crisis and a set of tools they can begin using straight away.

Breaking Free from the Scroll: A Psychotherapist's Guide to Device Addiction

Tech companies employ teams of engineers and experts to make their apps, devices, and feeds as addictive as possible, exploiting the same brain mechanisms that make us vulnerable to slot machines and drugs. But once you understand how it works, you can start to take back control.

This workshop offers a judgment-free space and insights from neuroscience and psychology plus practical, compassionate strategies for behaviour change.

Participants will leave with an understanding of the impact of technology in their lives and a set of tools they can begin using straight away.

What Else To Expect When You're Expecting: Strengthening Your Partnership During one of Life's Biggest Transitions

Preparing for a baby means more than stocking up on diapers and picking out paint colours. This workshop addresses the conversations many expectant and new parents don’t realize they need to have until they’re in the thick of it.

In this workshop, parents are presented with the important questions that will help them to align before those late-night disagreements happen.

We’ll explore topics like navigating different parenting and communication styles, managing conflict when you’re sleep-deprived, aligning on financial priorities, identifying your core values as a family, and understanding the fundamentals of attachment theory.

Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of their own values and a roadmap to gaining more clarity and connection with their co-parent(s) that they can begin using right away.

Each workshop is about an hour long (great for lunch breaks!) and all participants will leave with a workbook or resource guide to take home with them.

Before I offer these to the general public, I’d like to focus on facilitating these workshops for groups of people within Metro Vancouver (in person).

Do you know of any clubs, associations, or organizations that might be interested in hosting me to run one of these workshops?

Perhaps your health clinic would be interested in hosting a speaker for their patients?
Or your physio or massage therapist’s office?
Or your parent council?
Or your company?

If anyone comes to mind right now, I’d love a warm introduction or even just their contact info — I’ll take it from there!

Here are some ideas I’ve thought of so far…
