What Else to Expect When You're Expecting
Strengthening Your Partnership During one of Life's Biggest Transitions
Preparing for a baby means more than stocking up on diapers and picking out paint colours.
Many expectant and new parents don’t realize the conversations they need to have until they’re in the thick of it.
This isn’t a workshop where I’ll give you the “right” answers—instead, I’ll present the important questions that will help you and your co-parent(s) align before those late-night disagreements happen.
We’ll explore topics like navigating different parenting and communication styles, managing conflict when you’re sleep-deprived, aligning on financial priorities, identifying your core values as a family, and understanding the fundamentals of attachment theory.
Together We'll Explore
1. Attachment Theory 101
Learn about how the way that we’re raised impacts our relationships as adults, and how to really show up for our kids.
2. Your Core Values
Figure out what’s important to you and your co-parent(s) will to help shape how you approach conflict and decision-making.
3. The Labour After the Delivery
After baby comes home, there’s work to do! We’ll explore what “emotional labour” is and why it’s so important to consider when sharing the work of parenting.
4. Conflict & Communication
The most successful relationships aren’t those free of conflict—it’s partnerships that can navigate disagreement when it happens that succeed. We’ll explore a framework for communicating effectively during conflict and dig into what repair looks like.
5. Questions to Consider
You’ll be loaded up with ideas of potential decisions to consider in advance so they don’t surprise you while you’re arms deep in diapers.
This workshop complements—but does not replace—prenatal training or pregnancy and birth classes.

All parents and parents-to-be are welcome, including singles, couples, and other relationship structures. Come ready to think, reflect, and start the conversations that matter.
